A little bit about us...
Founded in 2007 by Alvin Benton, FARO Consulting & Solutions has always been about one thing: People. The work we do is very personal. Our clients entrust us with their credibility and professional reputations. We cannot take that honor any more seriously. For this reason, we have measured our team growth based on culture, commitment, and organizational fit. You can expect to see the distinct FARO level of commitment from everyone of our team members.
Today, you can see FARO not only doing great work for our clients, but also doing great things in the community. A number of charities and social causes have played an important part of team members' growth, including various women's, veteran, and youth programs where economic and time contributions have been substantial.
Our focus is transformation. In today's organizations, this often involves achieving a balance with technology systems. Accordingly, our executive team is comprised of experienced industry professionals with civil or military service, technology industry backgrounds, and financial sector experience, with notable published authors, public speakers, adjunct faculty members, and other distinguished roles being served.
For our government clients, we maintain a number of attractive buying agreements, including CMAS, SLP, and SB/DVBE buying status.
There are many things we hope to achieve, but none more fundamental to our core strategy than to hold true to the following three tenets on a day to day basis:
1. Every client and customer wants to be a positive reference;
2. Every employee knows he or she can always do right by the client; and
3. Every industry partner feels we made them a priority in our planning and execution.
Everything else we do is a tactical measure to stay true to this vision.
What's in a Name
What's in a name? For us, a lot. "FARO" comes from the "Pharos of Alexandria," the world's oldest lighthouse and one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. The word has since symbolized a safe navigational guide in many cultures and languages and reminds us daily of how important our work is to the success of our clients and customers.
There are many reasons why giving back to the communities in which we live and work is valuable. First and foremost, we are grateful for the opportunity provided to us by our loyal customers. By recognizing our hard work and commitment, our customers have allowed us to hire quality people and to maintain a successful business in the Sacramento area. Both as an organization and through a charitable matching program, we participate with a wide range of non-profit organizations in making our communities stronger.
Additionally, we have identified two signature causes that are going to be consistent focal areas for us:
As the owner of a business founded under the permission offered to service-related disabled veterans, our founder Alvin Benton has always taken time to do what he can to help the men and women who have served our country. Accordingly, look for FARO to be lending a hand to those who have struggled in life after giving significantly through their service. We are helping with time, services, and economic support to various entities and are always looking for referrals to find new ways to make a positive differences.
Our other major initiative is healthy behavior reinforcement for kids in the formative K-8 age group. For 2018, we are focusing on choosing to drink water as their first choice (as opposed to chemical laden or sugar rich alternatives). To this point, we are giving out boxes and boxes of refillable sports bottles out to schools that are installing bottle filling stations to make that choice easier for kids regardless of economic means. We hope to reach thousands of kids in the Sacramento area this year and encourage you to tell a school administrator about our giving program.

A quick snapshot of some of the great people who are dedicated to helping solve problems for you and your government colleagues can reveal some themes:
Craig Grivette, VP, has served two California Governors as an appointee in IT and has been a leader in the high-tech sector before retiring from one of the 'big 4' consulting firms in 2017. His 25-year career has been almost entirely focused on the challenges facing government: working across health, human services, transportation, corrections, and business regulation. You can count on Craig to be an honest broker and problem solver on which you and your team can rely.
Tanya Wicht, Technical Account Executive, has 28 years of industry experience working with State, Local and Federal government agencies as part of large technology vendor teams. As an experienced solution architect and TS\SCI cleared professional, Tanya is committed to your success by making recommendations that keep the realities of IT operations, security, and staff development in mind.
Michael BentonWolfgram, Lead Analyst, has recently joined FARO out of the UC system and immediately began diving into our work with our most important clients and customers. His passion for analyzing the impacts of technology on workers (OCM, BPR, and other areas) and his respect for the mission of government have made him an invaluable collaborator on innovative workflow and customer support tasks.
Neil MacMullan, Business Relationship Director, has worked on and off with FARO since its inception 10 years ago and remains one of the staunchest advocates constantly checking to make sure FARO is doing everything it can to be the most accessible provider for the public sector. His nearly 30 years of experience working technology companies working with the State has given him a unique perspective. Whether it is reshaping products, services, or contracts, Neil is your ally in finding ways to say, “yes.”
